Every child aged 10 and under with a paid fare gets a present from Santa on the train; 11s and over travel as adults and get no present. Christmas Eve costs £1 more per ticket and must be booked in advance — no walk-ups. Concessionary passes and member tickets are not valid. About 15 minutes’ drive from Skelton Gate.

Your visit starts in the decorated Engine House, where you collect tickets and present vouchers before boarding. After the ride there’s Santa’s grotto for photos, tea, coffee and mince pies for the adults, juice and biscuits for the children, and storytelling sessions in the Display Hall.
