Rothwell Cakeathon - Trail Run
Add to Calendar
Looking for a unique trail running event in Leeds? This one starts somewhere a little different…
Not just any motorway service station — we’re based at Skelton Lake Services (M1 J45), one of the UK’s most environmentally friendly service stations. It’s greener than green and even features a rooftop bird hide, a must-visit for any birdwatcher before or after your run.
All facilities within the services are available to runners, making this one of the most convenient and accessible trail races in Yorkshire.
A Stunning Mixed-Terrain Trail Course
This is one of our favourite courses — and for good reason.
You’ll experience a true mixed-terrain adventure, including:
Woodland trails
Open grass sections
Hard-packed trail
Scenic countryside views
Whether you’re chasing a PB, enjoying a steady trail run, or walking your first longer distance, our generous 6.5-hour cut-off time makes this event welcoming for all abilities.
Fully Supported & Friendly Atmosphere
We pride ourselves on creating supportive, social trail events.
Regular water & feed stations (approximately every 3 miles)
Sweet & savoury snacks to keep you fuelled
Encouraging, experienced marshals
Bespoke finisher medal
Plenty of cake (of course!)
You can’t beat a post-race cup of tea and a chat with fellow runners. We actively encourage everyone to stay, relax, and enjoy the social atmosphere.
Important Race Information
